Full Definition

Preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploids (PGT-A) is a procedure used during in vitro fertilization to screen embryos for chromosomal abnormalities before implantation. The test examines all 23 pairs of chromosomes to detect gains or losses that could lead to implantation failure, miscarriage, or genetic conditions. PGT-A is typically recommended for patients of advanced maternal age, recurrent pregnancy loss, or repeated IVF failures.
