Full Definition
A microsurgical technique used to obtain sperm from men with obstructive or non-obstructive azoospermia. The procedure involves making a small incision in the testis and extracting tissue samples to locate viable sperm. Retrieved sperm can then be used in ICSI procedures. This technique is particularly valuable for patients who have failed previous sperm retrieval attempts or have conditions causing complete absence of sperm in the ejaculate.
