Endomucosal resection (EMR) is an endoscopic procedure used to remove early-stage gastrointestinal malignancies that are limited to the mucosal layer. This technique allows for organ preservation while achieving oncologically sound resection margins for appropriately selected tumors. EMR is particularly valuable for esophageal, gastric, and colorectal lesions where the depth of invasion has not extended beyond the submucosa.
