Cystoscopy is a diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedure that allows direct visualization of the bladder mucosa, urethra, and ureteral orifices using a cystoscope. The procedure can identify bladder tumors, stones, inflammation, anatomical abnormalities, and sources of hematuria. Therapeutic applications include tumor resection, stone removal, stent placement, and biopsy collection. Both flexible and rigid cystoscopes are available depending on the clinical indication.
