sandwich technique
A stenting method where a covered stent is placed between two uncovered stents to treat complex lesions while preserving side branch patency.
washout phenomenon
Rapid clearance of contrast agent from vessel segments, often indicating competitive flow or vascular steal.
wire bias
The tendency of a guidewire to preferentially track toward one branch over another at vessel bifurcations.
wire entrapment
Complication where guidewire becomes trapped within deployed stent struts or device components.
wire escalation
Progressive use of increasingly supportive or specialized guidewires to cross challenging vascular lesions.
