Global Assessment of Functioning score, a numeric scale rating overall psychological, social, and occupational functioning.
Full Definition
A clinician-rated scale from 1-100 that provides a global measure of an individual's psychological, social, and occupational functioning. Higher scores indicate better functioning, with scores below 50 typically indicating serious impairment. While no longer included in DSM-5-TR, GAF scores are still used in some clinical settings and research contexts for outcome measurement.
