Amplitude mapping is an electroanatomical mapping technique that displays local electrogram voltage amplitudes as color-coded overlays on three-dimensional cardiac geometry. Areas with low voltage (typically <0.5 mV for ventricular tissue and <0.2 mV for atrial tissue) are displayed in red and represent scar or fibrotic tissue, while areas with normal voltage appear purple or blue. This mapping technique is essential for identifying arrhythmia substrates, planning ablation strategies, and avoiding healthy myocardium. Amplitude maps are often combined with activation timing and pace mapping to create comprehensive substrate maps.

Usage note: Color coding varies by system manufacturer. Red typically indicates low voltage/scar tissue.
