Tricuspid valve annuloplasty is a surgical repair technique designed to address tricuspid regurgitation caused by annular dilatation, often secondary to left-sided heart disease or pulmonary hypertension. The procedure involves either implantation of a prosthetic annuloplasty ring or performance of a suture annuloplasty (such as the Kay or DeVega technique) to reduce the circumference of the tricuspid valve annulus. This restoration of normal annular geometry improves leaflet coaptation and reduces regurgitation.
