In implant dentistry, torque value (or insertion torque) refers to the resistance encountered as the implant fixture is threaded into the prepared osteotomy site, measured in Newton centimetres (Ncm). High insertion torque (typically ≥35 Ncm) is associated with good primary stability and may qualify a case for immediate loading. Torque values are also recorded when tightening abutment and prosthetic screws to manufacturer specifications to prevent screw loosening or fracture.
