TTFields therapy has been approved for glioblastoma treatment based on clinical trials showing improved survival when combined with standard chemotherapy. The mechanism involves interference with microtubule function during mitosis, selectively affecting rapidly dividing cancer cells while sparing normal tissue. The therapy requires continuous application for at least 18 hours daily to achieve optimal efficacy.
