Tumor-related epilepsy refers to seizures that develop as a direct consequence of brain tumors, affecting up to 80% of patients with low-grade gliomas and a significant proportion of those with other brain neoplasms. The epileptogenic potential varies by tumor type, location, and growth characteristics, with slow-growing lesions in cortical regions being particularly epileptogenic. Management requires integrated care from both neuro-oncology and epilepsy specialists, as treatment decisions must balance tumor control with seizure management. The relationship between tumor treatment and seizure control is complex, as surgical resection may improve seizures but chemotherapy and radiation can affect seizure threshold. In clinical documentation, seizure semiology and response to antiepileptic drugs provide important information about tumor location and behavior.
