Cyclophotocoagulation is a laser procedure that selectively destroys portions of the ciliary body to reduce aqueous humor production and lower intraocular pressure. In ocular oncology, this technique is commonly employed to manage secondary glaucoma that develops as a complication of intraocular tumors or their treatment. The procedure can be performed using various laser types including diode, Nd:YAG, or argon lasers, delivered either transsclerally or endoscopically. Cyclophotocoagulation is particularly useful when conventional glaucoma treatments are insufficient or contraindicated due to the presence of intraocular malignancy.
