Mesangial proliferative glomerulonephritis (MesPGN) is a histological pattern of glomerular injury characterized by proliferation of mesangial cells and increased mesangial matrix deposition. In pediatric patients, this pattern can be seen in various conditions including IgA nephropathy, lupus nephritis, and post-infectious glomerulonephritis. The diagnosis requires renal biopsy with light microscopy showing increased cellularity in the mesangial areas. Clinical presentation may range from asymptomatic hematuria to nephritic syndrome with hypertension and reduced kidney function.
