Full Definition
Juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia (JMML) is a rare clonal hematopoietic disorder that occurs almost exclusively in young children, typically under age 4. JMML is characterized by proliferation of myeloid and monocytic cells with features of both myelodysplastic and myeloproliferative disorders. The disease often presents with hepatosplenomegaly, lymphadenopathy, and skin rash, and has a poor prognosis without hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.
