A dual-chamber pacing mode that can pace and sense both atria and ventricles with dual response capability.

Full Definition

DDD pacing is a comprehensive dual-chamber pacing mode where the device can pace both the atrium and ventricle, sense electrical activity in both chambers, and respond to sensed events by either triggering or inhibiting pacing. This mode maintains atrioventricular synchrony and is considered the most physiologic pacing mode for patients with intact sinus node function but impaired AV conduction. The mode automatically adjusts between AAI, VVI, and dual-chamber pacing based on the patient's intrinsic rhythm.
