Tumor grade is a standardized classification system, most commonly the World Health Organization (WHO) grading system, that ranks brain tumors from Grade I (least aggressive) to Grade IV (most aggressive) based on histological features such as cellular atypia, mitotic activity, microvascular proliferation, and necrosis. Tumor grade is a critical factor in treatment planning and prognosis determination. Recent updates incorporate molecular features alongside traditional histological criteria, leading to integrated diagnoses that combine morphology with genetic alterations.
